Jabra is very well known for making some of the best true wireless earbuds on the market since they've launched the Jabra Elite 65t model last year, and now, in 2020 they made it again with the Jabra Elite Active 75t which are some of the best pair of wireless earbuds available at this date in time.
This review will focus mainly on the Jabra Elite Active 75t but, but we will compare them to the simple Elite model along the way. From the beginning, we want to point out that there are only two differences that may affect your purchase decision and both regarding your lifestyle.
Size, fit and comfort
Since last year Jabra spent a lot of time resizing the Jabra Elite series, managing to make them smaller and most importantly much more comfortable. We love to see that unlike other brands the Jabra Elite Active 75t does not stick out of your ears. These wireless earbuds were designed to fit perfectly anyone's ears creating a perfect seal for amazing noise isolation. Also, thanks to a special grip coating the fit is extremely secure, they stay firmly in place and even during the most intensive workouts the seal won't break. They are very comfortable thanks to the fact that the buttons are extremely responsive and that they weigh only 5.5g.
Materials and durability
The build quality of these true wireless earbuds is more than great. The materials are very well chosen, making them look and feel really premium. But here comes one of the differences between the simple and the sports model we were talking about in the beginning. While the Jabra Elite Active 75ts are coated in a special grip coating that feels like premium rubberized plastic (both on the earbuds and the case), making them more secure for those who have an "active" lifestyle, the simple Elite model lacks this coating but they are still very secure so no worries about that.
Furthermore, the Jabra Elite Active 75t are fully waterproof, and dustproof featuring an IPX7 rating so they can be submerged for 30 minutes in water up to 3 meters without any problem. And here is the second difference between the simple Elite and the Active model. The Elite 75ts only feature IPX5 rating, they are still water-resistant managing to handle low water get sprays and sweatproof.
That's it for the differences between the two models because we are getting into the performance part of this review where both are exactly the same.
Sound quality
This is the area that blew us away the most. These true wireless earbuds sound amazing, they offer all you could ever want from wireless earbuds in terms of highs, mids, and they are loud, crisp and clear. Also, the base is pronounced and powerful. But in case you are not comfortable with the standard settings you can always use the Equaliser in the Jabra Sound+ app to adjust everything according to your preferences.
The noise isolation is highly effective, maybe some of the best we have seen, but in case you want to be aware of your surroundings you can enable the hear trough feature just by taping one of the earbuds. It is worth mentioning that the hear trough level can also be adjusted inside the app.
The Jabra Elite Active 75ts are equipped with 4 microphones allowing for great active noise isolation and amazing call quality. They make a really great job at lowering the background noise and isolating your voice during calls so you don't have to talk louder, scream or anything like that.
Controls
We love to see that Jabra Elite Active 75t brings all the controls you need at your fingertips so you don't need to get your phone out of your pocket. There are a total of 18 different commands that can be done by touching the earbuds, from basic volume controls, skipping tracks and voice assistant activation to even switching off the microphone during a call.
Moreover, the earbuds will automatically pause the music if you take one bud out and they feature mono mode, but keep in mind that only the right earbud can be used for that.
Connectivity
Like most of the true wireless earbuds that have been launched this year, the Jabra Elite Active 75t are equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, the best version available ensuring extremely stable connection, no dropouts or lag in a 30ft range. Also, the earbuds can be paired with up to 8 devices and can be connected with two at the same time.
Battery life
The battery life is the last key feature of these earbuds, and quite impressive considering the size and the weight of these earbuds. Jabra states 7.5 hours of battery life on a single charge which will be around 7 hours in real life and 28 hours with the charging case.
The Jabra Elite Active 75t feature fast charging so in only 15 minutes of charging you will get 1 hour of playtime. Also, the charging case is equipped with magnetic charging for the earbuds and USB Type C charging port.
All that being said, we highly recommend the Jabra Elite Active 75t and keep in mind that if you want the simple Elite model the only differences are the rubberized coating material and the IP rating, otherwise both models perform exactly the same.
