Ultimate Ears managed to design one of the most colorful, resistant and rugged Bluetooth speakers out there.

The sound quality of the speaker is not the best out there, although it is very good, crisp and powerful. It can keep up with the high and brands. The best thing about this is that it is one of the few speakers on the market that can deliver full 360 degrees sound.  The base is pretty strong, vocals and mid range are decent. It can get very loud if needed, but it performs best if it is not pushed to the limit.

It comes with an app on which you can control the EQ settings. The app also allows you to connect more than 150 UE speakers together for stereo sound.

The speaker has a built in microphone so you can receive calls trough it.

If you like colorful speakers, UE Boom 2 delivers the biggest variety of colors out there. From purple to black and all sorts of color combination and skins Boom 2 is trying to make our experience more colorful.

Bose always managed to bring to the market some of the best speakers and SoundLink Micro is no exception. If you are looking for ultra portability this is the perfect choice.

It doesn't get as lout as a JBL Flip or UE Boom 2, which is understandable for it's size but the sound quality is impressive. It provides very powerful base, it does exceptional when it comes to vocals and it is very clear and crisp. The overall sound quality is impressive, outstanding any other ultra portable Bluetooth speaker I have tested.

The speaker is has a built-in microphone so you can answer incoming calls.

It has battery life indicators, but also tells you the battery percentage and the device it is connected to, being capable to remember up to 8 devices.

The most convenient thing about Bose SoundLink Micro, being a ultra portable speaker, is the back strap. This strap is ultra resistant and let's you attach the speaker to almost anything. It won't fall out by any means.

Bose Egg - Vibe Tribe

Now I want to present you something very interesting that you can buy.

They call this Bose Egg and practically this can turn any surface you can imagine into a Bluetooth speaker.

 So how it works?

The principle is pretty simple. It is a vibration inducer that you can stick on any surface and it will make that surface vibrate like a speaker.

Here the size doesn't matter. Alone, the speaker will sound quiet, but as soon as you stick it to a surface the sound will be amazing and loud.

The EQ setting will vary from one kind of surface to another. You can experiment with any surface you can imagine. For example:

Wood = deep base, rich mids | Glass = clear, transparent sound | Metal = strong base.

I found this device to be very interesting an also very high quality.

The good

  • Amazing Sound Quality
  • Very good battery life
  • IPX7 Rating(Waterproof)
  • Shock Proof, very resistant
  • Back Rubber Strap

The Bad

  •  Not assistant enabled
  • Can't float

Looking now at something a bit more modern, continuing the XB Series, here we have SONY XB32.

In addition to the other Bluetooth speakers that we talked about, this one really has a more stilish look having those LED strips around the drivers. If you download the Sony App you will be able to play around with those lights a lot. Also you can chose to stop them at any time for more battery.

The sound quality, comparing it to the last year's model has been improved. The overall sound quality is impressive. The great thing here is that it capable of switching to Live 3D Sound and also has Base Booster. Also you can play around with the EQ Settings in the app.

Speaking of the app, besides controlling the lights the app has "Party Booster" feature which allows you to hit the speaker on it's sides to add ritmic beats to yours songs. Also "Motion Control" is another in-app feature where some movements can change how you control your music or play around with the lights.

This speaker has built-in microphone for incoming calls.

It has a feature called "Wireless Party Chain" which allows you to sink up to 100 XB Series speakers together or you can add just one for stereo sound.

Image

I really like the Sony XB32 because it stand out from the crowd with all those interesting features, also adding some interesting ones to the technical area too. So let's take a look.

Sony XB32 is equipped with Bluetooth 4.2 which is not the best out there, but don't warry, you won't experience any video lag or connectivity issues for at least 100fts. Speaking of connectivity, in addition to the Bluetooth you have the 3.5mm input option and the NFC-Pairing.

The battery can last you up to 14 hours of playtime but you can use it to charge other devices on the go which is awesome.

The built quality is very good. I really love the silicon on the back which adds extra grip to it. Although it is shock proof you might want to be careful because the LED Strip can crack.

It is IPX7 Rated, water and dust proof and it floats, so don't warry about losing it in the deep sea!

It is a little pricier then the brand we talked trough by now, but with all those features I really think that Sony XB32 is worth it.

This is Anker Soundcore 2, one of the greatest affordable Bluetooth speakers and also best seller on Amazon these days.

The look, sound quality and feel of this speaker are very premium competing with the top brands out there.

The sound quality of the speaker is very good. It performs best in the middle range volume. Can get pretty lout, being capable of filling a room, but at higher volume the base is not as strong as expected, which I think is a minor disadvantage.

It has a built-in microphone for phone calls, that performs decent.

The overall sound is pretty balanced and it has deep and powerful base thanks to the side passive radiators similar to the JBL ones. Also you can pare two of those together for a stereo sound that can get much louder than a single JBL Extreme.
